Police make arrest for homicide at Prince Hall Apartments

— Officers of the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched at 10:16 p.m., Thursday to Prince Hall Apartments, 800 W. 14th St. in reference to a shooting according to a press release.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims with gunshot wounds. These two victims were both transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for their injuries. One of the victims was pronounced deceased and the other is listed in stable condition.
After speaking with witnesses, officers were able to gather suspect information and provided it to the Beaumont Police Department. Officers with the Beaumont Police Department located the suspect in Beaumont and were able to place him into custody. After being transported back to Port Arthur for questioning, the suspect was transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending next of kin notification. This case remains under investigation by the PAPD’s Major Crime Team.
