Port Arthur's Valero continues at reduced rates

— For now, the Valero Port Arthur Refinery will continue operating at reduced rates with a small rideout crew on hand. Nonessential personnel have been evacuated. Should the situation change as Hurricane Gustav approaches, Valero officials will take the necessary steps to keep personnel and equipment safe. The shutdown process and evacuation of the refinery's St. Charles plant in Louisiana has been completed. The Texas City and Houston refineries are currently operating at reduced rates, as well. Valero's Corpus Christi plants are currently operating at planned rates. Valero continues to bring shipments of fuel into company-operated stores and is working with local authorities to provide fuel along evacuation routes
