Hill, Menendez top Hamshire-Fannett class of 2009

With hobbies from robotics to hanging out with her sister, Callie Hill has found the time and initiative to become valedictorian of Hamshire-Fannett High School.
She’s also had time to map out her major.
“I will be attending Texas A&M University this fall and I will be majoring in mechanical engineering,” Hill said.
Hill is the daughter of Gay and Gary Hill and her grade point average is 5.438 (4.0).
“My hobbies include swimming, traveling, hanging out with my sister,” Hill said.
The top senior said she was a part of the regional qualifying golf team, the National Honor Society, Junior Statesmen of America, Spanish Club, Robotics, UIL Mathematics and I participated in the High School Aerospace Scholars program through NASA.
José L. Menéndez, III is the school’s salutatorian of 2009. He said his hobbies include drawing and reading. Menéndez plans to attend Texas A&M in College Station and major in computer science and computer engineering and minor in graphic design.
The son of José L. Menéndez, Jr. and Dannette M. Menéndez, his grade point average is 5.421. He has been assistant drum major and the co-captain and builder of the Robotics Team.
His activities have included University Interscholastic League debate, math calculator, science, general math and computer science; serving as president of the Spanish Club; Junior Statesmen of America; Academic Challenge and Literary Criticism.
