Generosity will help others

— Thanks to the huge number of generous people shopping at Bruce’s Market Basket on Saturday, May 27, who donated and provided hundreds and hundreds of pounds of food and supplies to benefit children right here in Jefferson County.
Many thanks to the employees of Bruce’s Market Basket for assisting in this effort and for their own donations, from the owner on down. The members of St. Paul Lutheran Church collecting the goods for the United Board of Missions food pantry were humbled by the people of all faiths and all races and nationalities who truly went out of their way to provide for others whom they will never meet, but who are in need.
As the blue tarps deteriorate and even more damage occurs in our area, it was uplifting to see such a large number of people helping people including those that are still displaced. FEMA may have abandoned our needy but hundreds in our community have not. Thanks again for your generosity.
