Sponsors made conference possible
letter
Willie Mae Elmore
The Program of Health Excellence, Inc., the Love People Inc., volunteers and young ladies who attended the Youth Leadership Conference want to thank the many sponsors that made the conference possible.
More than 20 young ladies attended the full-day conference. Each one of the young ladies said how thankful they were that someone took time to offer this type of training. The youth participated in sessions from developing a code of conduct; how to manage money; the importance of education; how to improve their community; knowing their roles in the school, church and the community; character building; making public presentations; caring for their bodies; and preserving their spirit, soul and body.
Special presentations on community involvement were made by Verna Rutherford of the Chamber of Commerce and a lesson in the history of Juneteenth was presented by Fabiola Small.
Thank you to Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Sinegal, Mrs. Kyle, Mrs. Vincent, Mrs. Pickey, Mrs. Guy, Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Mosley. Thanks to the following sponsors: Port Arthur Weed and Seed, Gabriel Funeral Home, STAT Care EMS, CCMB Medical Supplies, Total Petrochemicals USA, Huntsman Corp., L.G.B. Taylor Publishing, Peacock Heavenly Massages, Mr. Wade McCray, Christian Church of Port Arthur/Groves, The MED Clinic, Juneteenth Pageant Committee, African American Cultural Society, Love People Inc, and W.M.
