No tests for dead bird worrisome

— Today, I was walking out to get my newspaper and I noticed a dead bird. I noticed that it seemed OK and had not been killed by another animal. With all of the talk about bird flu lately, my wife called the dog catcher to see if they would come out and pick it up and have it tested.
He said they did not have a program to test for bird flu. I thought that was strange, since they keep talking about it coming to the U.S. at any time. How will we know if we have it if there is no test for it here? Something should be done about this.
