Don’t give up right to dissent

The Commissioner may be right in his comments about our incumbent president’s position on this area’s Rita relief, “You do not bite the hand that feeds you.”
It is indeed unfortunate that our community which usually votes Democratic is being punished this way. This type of treatment is not unknown to us. The workers in our area, and we lawyers who represent them, have had their rights taken away from them repeatedly by the present administration.
What can we do? Do we give up our right to dissent because we are afraid we will lose our share of funds that are available? Absolutely not. We voice our displeasure and we change the controllers of the purse stings.
