Ed Acevedo, center, bikes alongside Eric Bender, right, of Bicycle Sports and Boatswain Mate 2nd Class John Thomas of Coast Guard Station Sabine, both of whom rode alongside Acevedo on a part of his way to Houston Friday. Acevedo, an Army tank commander during Desert Storm, is making his way from Saint Augustine, Florida to San Diego, California on a trek to raise awareness and funding for disabled veterans and the families of military members killed in action.
