Groves to set CODES hearing date

GROVES — Groves City Council will consider setting a date for dangerous/empty structures CODES hearing during the 5:30 p.m. meeting on Monday, Oct. 7, at city hall.

The properties they will discuss include: 2701 Taft, 3129 Oak, 2521 Friar Tuck, 3138 Graves, 3330 Lay, 5249 Craig, 6189 Washington, 4725 Harrison, 6549 Jefferson, 6000 25th St. and 7160 Howe.

Council will also consider approval of an ordinance suspending the Oct. 30, effective date proposed by Entergy Texas, Inc. for 90 days in connection with its rate increase application filed on Sept. 25.

Other agenda items include:

• Presentation of a proclamation in recognition for the 50th anniversary of the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas

• presentation of a proclamation designating October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

• Presentation of Pecan Festival royalty
