Groves police calls from Oct 10 - 16

GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from Oct. 10 through Oct. 16

Wednesday, Oct. 10

• A 32-year-old female was arrested for outstanding Nederland warrants in the 6700 block of 25th Street.

• Lawn equipment and vehicle parts were stolen from a storage building in the 3300 block of Canal.

• A purse was stolen from a shopping cart in the parking lot of the 5000 block of Twin City Highway.

Thursday, Oct. 11

• A citizen reported a fraud incident involving more than $5,000.

• Telephone harassment was reported by a citizen at the police station.

Friday, Oct. 12

• While on routine patrol in the 3200 block of Twin City Highway, an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. After checking with Central Dispatch, the 20-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Orange County.

• Forged checks were cashed at a business in the 6000 block of 39th Street.

• A 29-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Jefferson County after a traffic stop in the  6100 block of Gulfway Drive.

• An assault was reported in the 5000 block of Bellaire.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a credit card account.

Saturday, Oct. 13

• An assault was reported in the 7000 block of Willow.

Sunday, Oct. 14

• Officers were called to a disturbance in the 5000 block of East Parkway where a 28-year-old male was arrested for outstanding Port Arthur Police Department warrants.

• An assault was reported in the 5200 block of East Parkway.

• An assault was reported in the 3600 block of Main.

• Information was received about a possible burglary in the 6700 block of 25th Street.

Monday, Oct. 15

• A 29-year-old male was arrested for outstanding Port Arthur PD warrants in the 4900 block of Beaumont.

• A 37-year-old female was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 2700 block of Cooley.

• A women’s white gold wedding ring with a princess cut diamond was stolen from a house in the 2700 block of Third Avenue.

• A driver was found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol in the 6800 block of 25th Street.

• A disturbance was reported in the 6200 block of Warren.
