Relay pageant results announced

GROVES — The sixth Relay For Life Scholarship Pageant was held Saturday, March 19, at Groves Middle School Auditorium sponsored by the Van Buren Buddies Relay For Life Team. One hundred three young women competed for the title of Little Miss, Duchess, Countess,  Junior Miss, Princess, and Queen of the Mid and South County Relay For Life supporting the American Cancer Society. Entry fee for the pageant was a $55 donation to the American Cancer Society along with a photogenic category that had a  $10 fee. Thanks to all who attended, those that helped sponsor the pageant with donations, and to the contestants who participated.

Winners were as follows:

Little Miss: Paityn Makena Peveto; 1st Runner-up: Libby Sanders; 2nd Runner-up: Presley Lakeyn Atkinson; 3rd Runner-up: Vivien Thames; and the Photogenic Winner: Reese Lauren Roberts.

Duchess: Reese Danielle Cricchio; 1st Runner-up: Brittney Kaye Brevell; 2nd Runner-up: Layla Brooke Stansbury; 3rd Runner-up: Nevaeh Granger; and the Photogenic Winner: Marena welch.

Countess: Keni McAdams; 1st Runner-up: Hailey Passmore; 2nd Runner-up: Alexis Victoria Collazo; 3rd Runner-up: Avery Fore; and the Photogenic Winner: Avery Fore

Junior Miss: Mady Rogers; 1st Runner-up: Cameron Buchanan; 2nd Runner-up: Carley Michelle Aquillard; 3rd Runner-up: Whitney Alexis Harvill; and the Photogenic Winner: Mady Rogers.

Princess: Paige Elizabeth Proenza; 1st Runner-up: Brittain Gayle Bertrand; 2nd Runner-up: Mattie LaRive; 3rd Runner-up: Hannah Nicole LaCour; and the Photogenic Winner: Brittain Gayle Bertrand

Queen: Tori Nicole Tinsley; 1st Runner-up: Karlie Carlquist; 2nd Runner-up: Kelsie Carlquist; 3rd Runner-up: Ashlyn Kate Wright; and the Photogenic Winner: Sarah Elizabeth Travis

The winners received crowns, sashes, and trophies. All participants received a trophy. The Queen also receives a $500 scholarship underwritten by Begnaud, Brammer, & Lattimore, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants.  The 1st runner-up receives a $300 scholarship sponsored by The Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union, the 2nd runner-up receives a $200 scholarship sponsored by Bailey-Buchanan Masonry, and the 1st runner-up receives a $100 scholarship sponsored by Debbie's Dance, Etc.

The Van Buren Buddies Relay For Life Team received donations from; Begnaud, Brammer, & Lattimore, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, The Golden Triangle Federal Credit Union, Bailey-Buchanan Masonry, and Debbie's Dance Etc for the Queen category scholarships.
