Vensel seeks Groves Ward 3 spot

GROVES — Being accessible and proactive are two abilities local business owner Robert Vensel plans to bring to the table if elected to the Ward 3 spot on Groves City Council in the Nov. 5 election.

Vensel, 51, owner of R&B Storit, has contemplated running for office for about four years. A recent issue between residents on Dave Street regarding parking issues at a business sent Vensel to several council meetings in which he was the “go-to” person for the neighborhood.

“I know city leaders now because of those interactions and I have a pretty good rapport with them,” Vensel said.

Vensel feels he can get more done than his opponent and wants to be proactive instead of sitting back and watching from afar.

Vensel is not running on a specific platform and doesn’t have an agenda nor is he looking to “go in and clean something up,” he said.

“I’d like to see things done differently,” he added. “Be accessible and accountable for your actions.”

A Groves native and Port Neches-Groves High School graduate, Vensel’s office is not far from city hall and the police station.

“I’m centrally located and accessible,” he said. “I follow-up on issues.”
