Midway to Mardi Gras By Darragh DoironOn September 2, Labor Day Weekend, the Spindletop/Gladys City Boomtown Museum is arranging the replica of the Lucas Gusher to blow at 2:30 and 4 p.m. The museum will have Rita photo displays and a continuous showing of the Spindletop video. The Gulf Coast Living History Association will have a Civil War Encampment including regular and silent drills with a Civil War era cannon on display. Capital One is sponsoring FREE shuttle service for visitors and residents alike. The shuttle will travel between Downtown Beaumont's Historic Museum District, Beaumont hotels and the Spindletop Museum from noon until 5 p.m. Call 880-3170 for details.
