Solis to perform for artist reception at TAM

PORT ARTHUR — Texas Artists Museum invites the community to join them for the artist reception on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Texas Artists Museum, 3501 Cultural Center Drive, behind the Port Arthur Civic Center. Refreshments are served and it's a great time to view the art on display for the month, and meet the artists. The reception is held from 5:30 until 7:30 PM.

Entertainment will be provided by Ray Solis at the reception. Mr. Solis is a well-known piano player and vocalist who performs at the Pompano Club, and many other places in the area.

For the month of October, the art work of Sheila Bergeaux is featured in the Founders Gallery.  Sheila had the Best of Show art piece for the Port Arthur Art Association annual contest which was held in February, thus entitling her to a one-man show in the museum. She has been awarded "Best Floral" two times previously. Sheila has painted for over thirty years and five years ago began working in watercolor.

Sheila loves this medium and it is reflected in her work. Sheila is a member of the Beaumont Art League, where she serves on the board of directors.  She is also a member of the Port Arthur Art Association as well as the Nederland Art Guild.  She has taught classes for about 12 years in folk art and decor and is quite accomplished.

The Texas Room features the jewelry designs of Sheila Bergeaux, also for the month of October. This delightful artist has been working with jewelry for about two years. Her designs clearly show her artistic talent.

Please join us on the evening of Thursday, October 11, to be entertained by Ray Solis, and meet Sheila Bergeaux while viewing her beautiful paintings and jewelry.
