Miley Cyrus is just a typical American teenager, who happens to have the highest rated show on the Disney Channel and a net worth of about $1 billion.

Cyrus takes that all in stride, based on a new DVD “The World According to Miley Cyrus: An Unauthorized Story.”

Despite the title, the documentary doesn’t seek to bash the teen idol. It tries to answer questions: Who is Cyrus and how does she cope with the fame and fortune of being a teen idol at 16?

Despite limited video footage, the documentary does a good job at filling in the gaps about her life as a singer, songwriter and star of the hit TV show Hannah Montana.

The documentary touches on her romance with Nick Jonas and also her controversial shoot with photographer Annie Leibovitz, which many parents thought was too risqué for the youth.

A strong support system, family values and faith keep her grounded, the documentary suggests. It also helps that her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus, co-stars on her show and is her business manager. 

She is the youngest person to ever have a wax figure in Madame Trousseau Wax Museum in New York and London, but it appears she hasn’t let it go to her head. 

She reportedly gets $400 allowance a month from her dad, according to the Examiner.com. Forbes put her on its ‘Celebrity 100’ list, which ranks the world's most powerful celebrities based on income, notoriety and media mentions. Cyrus was 25th on the list, raking in an estimated $25 million from June 2007 to June 2008. This was not mentioned on the DVD, although it is worth noting.

At age 15 in 2008, it was estimated that her net worth was about $1 billion, according to MSNBC.com.

But she is no spoiled brat. She was happy getting a puppy for her 16th birthday. “I cried my eyes out,” the teen said about receiving the incredible gift. She also got free reign of Disney grounds for a day, with a few select fans and friends.
