Rock legend ZZ Top to play at Ford Park

BEAUMONT — ZZ Top will kick off the 2007 Ford Pavilion season with an April 7 concert. The last time the band performed at Ford Pavilion was in 2004 and more than 14,000 people attended.
“The supporting acts we are working on will be a super addition to what is vertain to be a fantastic show by rock and roll icons ZZ Top,” promoter Steve Caldwell said.
Additionally, ZZ Top will be inducted into the Southeast Texas Walk of Fame at Ford Park while they are in town. They will be the first band inducted into the select group of artists.
The band has a rich history in the community with ZZ Top playing their first show in Beaumont on Feb. 10, 1970, a booking by rock and roll disc jockey Al Caldwell, who promoted the weekend concerts.
