Mojo coach, greasy-but-good skin care and recycled jewelry are new picks
Years ago at the fair my mother heard a stumper who looked like a movie star touting lanolin. He said he never washed his hair, but put this grease, made from wool-bearing animals, in his hair. He looked good, so she was sold. Later Rexall drugs put out little blue tubes of the stuff and it was always around the house.
Now old is new again. Lansinoh brand lanolin makers suggest breastfeeding mothers use it for sore nipples and say its the only product of its kind La Leche League International endorses. It’s also a natural for keeping feet ready for summer sandals. Makers boast of the purity of this lanolin. I’d have to say that lanolin is still greasy, but it really works. I even tried a bit in my hair, but I wouldn’t recommend that. Check for it in baby aisles at the drugstore.
M LAB provides skin care on the opposite end of the spectrum. Milbar Laboratories claims to be a global leader in the “art and science of Cosmeceutial development.” Look for efficacious anti-aging formulas in sleek black bottles that makers describe as “mod.” I guess it’s mod for your bod.
Here are some other goodies on shelves now:
The Mojo Coach
Besides going by the cool title of Mojo Coach, Debi Silber is an active mom and trainer who knows you need a whole, spiritual attitude to be fit. Lots of authors are reminding us that gratitude is where it’s at and you get back the kind of thoughts you send out. Visit www.lifestylefitnessinc.com to get your mojo working. Her book is “The Lifestyle Fitness Program.”
Good pop ups
Just when I thought we’d done something wrong, tiny, microscopic hairs of seedlings sprouted from the Amazing Pop-Up Garden set on my windowsill. Perfect for summer fun at Grandma’s, the mini-garden in a 6-inch box can be mailed as a gift. Water it and watch it expand, then wait for your own sprouts. For info on this Intromark Incorporated kit, visit www.unseenontv.com.
