I respect that, but I’m baffled when people don’t even want to try something. Some of this week’s new food items took a bit of arm twisting to engage samplers. Most people I know love talking about food as much as eating it. But people sure do have their quirks. I respect that, but I’m baffled when people don’t even want to try something. Some of this week’s new food items took a bit of arm twisting to engage samplers. Peanut Better I love challenging people to try new things, but I hate having to beg them. I was happy folks stopped by my desk to try Peanut Better’s savory samples. Spicy Southwestern is hot. I warned them. They liked it. Yet, it’s another reason for them to link me to “weird” food. For those who needed convincing, I asked them to imagine Thai Ginger & Red Pepper on Chinese noodles, and they went for that. Other savory Peanut Betters gracing my crackers have been Rosemary Garlic, Onion Parsley and Hickory Smoked. Thank me later for helping raise your peanut butter consciousness. Ice cream candy See the above entry to be amazed by the notion that I sometimes have to convince people to try new foods. The name Baskin Robbins on two candy bags I brought to a meeting wasn’t enough for one of my co-workers. One man of taste and distinction ate most of the sugar-free Very Berry Strawberry chews (my favorite as well), but this one guy screwed up his face for the Mint Chocolate Chip. Background: I had asked this coworker if he’d come over if I ever got around to inviting him to dinner. He said he was picky, and it depended on what I was serving. He then spent much of the day offering suggestions as to what he would eat if invited. Bottom line: I think most people of reasonable tastes would like, or even love, the new Baskin Robbins candy. Froose fan Who knew the organic brown rice syrup could make could flavor Froose so well? Froose is a healthy, “grab-n-grow” boxed drink a mother designed. I’d fight a kid, or the moose mascot, for a box of Playful Peach or Cheerful Cherry. Perfect Pear would be great for a mature after-dinner cheese tray course. It’s all good. Look for it.
