PA Chapter of NAACP to host meeting March 22
The Port Arthur Chapter of the NAACP will meet at 4 p.m. March 22 at 1001 Texas Ave.
PA Friends of Library presents the Singing Poet Guy
The Port Arthur Friends of the Library will present Lawrence J. Clark, The Singing Poet Guy, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, in the Gallery.
This free live performance weaves music, poetry and storytelling into an entertaining show for the whole family. Houston-based Clark has performed around the country and has written more than 300 songs. Donations are welcome and support library services to the community. Benefit for leukemia patient to be held March 17
Friends and family of Tyler Brown will host a benefit from noon to 9 p.m. March 17 at Knights of Columbus Hall, 2165 West Port Arthur Road. There will be barbecue, gumbo, chicken dump, a cake walk and prize give-a-ways. Musical entertainment will be provided by a variety of bands. Proceeds will benefit 8-year-old Tyler Brown, who has been diagnosed with Leukemia.
Donations are also being accepted at Gulf Credit Union account No. 66371.
Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club basketball program to begin
