Port Arthur police investigated the following reported incidents during the week:
Sunday, March 4
• A person was arrested for cruelty to animals in the 3200 block of 29th Street. Officers found that a black and white pit bull had been struck several times in the head with a wooden and metal pole. While the animal was still alive it was placed in a suit case. The suspect was transported to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
• A ring, DVD/VCR recorder combo, miscellaneous change and DVD’s were stolen from a home in the 900 block of Gulfway Drive.
Saturday, March 3
• A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the parking lot of Dylan’s, 8601 Ninth Avenue. An officer on routine patrol noticed the suspect spinning his tires then backing over a curve. The suspect was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility for booking procedures.
• One hundred sixty dollars was stolen from an apartment at O.W. Collins.
• A man was struck in the head with a glass bottle by another man at Nica Club, 3134 Gulfway Drive.
• A Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun was stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Thomas Boulevard.
• A DVD player was stolen from an apartment at Rampart Apartments.
• The passenger of a vehicle was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and marijuana while in the 1600 block of 60th Street.
• A woman was arrested for possession of a controlled substance while at Player’s Pool Hall.
• A trailer and 15 pieces of steel pipe were stolen from Huong Marine Supply.
• A 20 inch television set was stolen from a FEMA trailer parked in the 1400 block of New Orleans. The burglary occurred sometime between Feb. 26 and Feb. 27.
• A vehicle struck a telephone pole, knocking it down and breaking it, in the 3100 block of Procter Street. The vehicle and driver left the scene without giving information.
• A Playstation 2 console with four games and two men’s gold bands were stolen from a home in the 3300 block of 17th Street.
• Four gray 16 inch alloy wheels, valued at $600 each, and unknown tires, were stolen from Brian’s Wrecker Service.
Friday, March 2
• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 3100 block of FM 365. The suspect also had a passenger under the age of 15 in the vehicle.
Assorted DVD’s and a DVD player were stolen from a home in the 1500 block of 17th Street.
• Two Entergy street lights were damaged when an 18-wheeler struck them in the 500 block of W. Gulfway Drive.
• Several credit cards were stolen from a man’s wallet while he was at a business.
• A portable printer and power cords were stolen from a 2006 Dodge Caravan while parked in the 3800 block of Meadow.
• A 21 inch television and assorted crystal glasses and vases were stolen from the 600 block of 13th Street.
Thursday, March 1
• The garage of a home in the 3000 block of 26th Street was burglarized an a Victor torch, valued at $250, was stolen.
• Indecency with a child was reported to have occurred in the 2300 block of Neches Avenue.
• The front right passenger window of a 1994 Mazda van was smashed while parked in the 4700 block of Lewis Drive.
• A 20 inch television, Playstation II game system, 20 throw jerseys, assorted clothing and a computer mother board were stolen from a home in the 1900 block of Nashville.
• A 10 speed bicycle was stolen from Lan’s Quick stop.
