The following incidents were reported to the Groves Police Department during the past week:
Wednesday, Feb. 7
• Officers responded to a family disturbance in the 3600 block of Taft. A 14 year old juvenile was taken into custody for allegedly pushing his father.
• 2 forged checks were reported being passed at a business in the 6800 block of 25th Street.
• A black 2000 Honda Civic, license number P17RXN, was reported to be stolen from a business in the 5200 block of East Parkway.
• A complainant reported receiving threatening phone calls at her residence.
• A 27 year old male was arrested for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle after he was found to be in possession of the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen to the Groves Police Department in January, 2007.
Thursday, Feb. 8
• A lady reported that the door to her apartment in the 5200 block of Twin City was forced open when she was away. She also reported damage to her 1990 Chevrolet that was in the parking lot. Nothing appeared to be missing.
• A 69 year old female reported that someone had tried to steal her purse from her as she exited Bruce’s Market Basket located at 6001 39th Street. She said that a young, well dressed male came up from behind her as she got to her vehicle in the parking lot. She reported that he told her he had a gun and attempted to pull the purse off of her shoulder. After a brief struggle, he ran away and got into a light blue passenger car that was occupied by another black male.
• A digital camera was reported stolen after the owner came home and discovered someone had entered her residence through the garage.
• Two forged checks were passed at a business on Twin City Hwy.
Friday, Feb. 9
• Two nineteen year old males, one 17 year old male and one 17 year old female were arrested in the 2500 block of Royal for possession of marijuana after an officer stopped the vehicle they were traveling in for a traffic offense.
Saturday, Feb. 10
• A burglary of a habitation was reported in the 6800 block of Terrell. Plywood and tools were reported to have been taken.
• Officers responded to a call about suspicious activity in a motel room in the 5100 block of East Parkway. When officers arrived, they discovered 3 persons to be in possession of a variety of drugs and they were arrested and taken into custody.
• 36 year old male was arrested for public intoxication after he was seen walking in the 6600 block of 25th Street.
• Complainant reported being assaulted in his home after a 20 year old male subject entered his house after he was told to leave.
• 21 year old male was arrested for DWI and evading arrest in the 2500 block of Little John.
• Family disturbance in the 5500 block of Whitaker resulted in a 19 year old male being arrested after he assaulted his father.
• 30 year old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 4500 block of Twin City Hwy.
Sunday, Feb. 11
• 29 year old male was arrested for Assault Family Violence after officers responded to a family disturbance in the 6400 block of Howe.
• 26 year old female was arrested for public intoxication after she was found standing in front of a residence in the 2600 block of Boyd.
• 24 year old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 5300 block of Lincoln
• 16 year old male was assaulted by an acquaintance inside his residence.
Monday, Feb. 12
• 22 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication and giving police a false name in the 3000 block of Boyd.
• Victim reported that an unknown person ordered checks in her name and used them at a department store in Plano, TX.
• Victim reported that his son had stolen several of his credit cards and made several charges on his accounts.
• Digital camera, several Playstation games, a computer game, DVD’s and a flashlight and charger were reported stolen in the 5700 block of Monroe.
• 2 City of Nederland warrants were served in the 2000 block of Vincent Drive.
Tuesday, Feb. 13
• A City of Nederland warrant was served on a 37 year old female while officers were investigating possible narcotics activity at a business in the 6200 block of Gulfway.
• 4 City of Port Arthur warrants were served on a 19 year old female when she was stopped for a traffic violation in the 6000 block of Gulfway.
• 24 year old female was arrested for Possession of Marijuana when she was stopped for a traffic violation in the 5200 block of Twin City Hwy.
• Crack cocaine was located on a person in the 6200 block of Gulfway Drive.
• Victim reported a fraudulent credit card charge made to his account.
• A yellow and black colored Next brand bicycle was stolen in the 5700 block of 33rd Street. The complainant had witnessed seeing approximately five males walking down 33rd Street with the bicycle.
