The following incidents were reported to the Groves Police Department during the past week:
Wednesday, Feb. 7
• Officers responded to a family disturbance in the 3600 block of Taft. A 14 year old juvenile was taken into custody for allegedly pushing his father.
• 2 forged checks were reported being passed at a business in the 6800 block of 25th Street.
• A black 2000 Honda Civic, license number P17RXN, was reported to be stolen from a business in the 5200 block of East Parkway.
• A complainant reported receiving threatening phone calls at her residence.
• A 27 year old male was arrested for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle after he was found to be in possession of the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen to the Groves Police Department in January, 2007.
Thursday, Feb. 8
• A lady reported that the door to her apartment in the 5200 block of Twin City was forced open when she was away. She also reported damage to her 1990 Chevrolet that was in the parking lot. Nothing appeared to be missing.
• A 69 year old female reported that someone had tried to steal her purse from her as she exited Bruce’s Market Basket located at 6001 39th Street. She said that a young, well dressed male came up from behind her as she got to her vehicle in the parking lot. She reported that he told her he had a gun and attempted to pull the purse off of her shoulder. After a brief struggle, he ran away and got into a light blue passenger car that was occupied by another black male.
• A digital camera was reported stolen after the owner came home and discovered someone had entered her residence through the garage.
• Two forged checks were passed at a business on Twin City Hwy.
