— Deadline for entry to the Miss Mercado Festival Pageant is Feb. 12.
The Mercado Days Festival Pageant is open to seniors in high school through the age of 21. Applicant must be of Hispanic descent such as Cuban, Central American, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South America, or Spanish.
The pageant is hosted by the Southeast Texas Hispanic Cultural and Educational Center Inc. of Port Arthur. The 2007 Festival is scheduled for April 20 and 21 in downtown Port Arthur.
Applications must be turned in to Cassie Esqueda, 3717 Graves, Groves, Texas , 77619. The pageant is scheduled for April 21. Contestants will be judged on the following categories: interview; costume, sports wear, and formal wear.
