Send your nominations to panews@panews.com Aesop said that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Honor someone who has done an act of kindness by nominating that person for The News 2008 Citizen of the Year. In past few weeks, the nomination list has grown but we want to be sure to include your hero’s name. Remember, nominations will only be accepted through Friday, Sept. 19, so get them in soon. To nominate someone, write up a short nomination letter and send entries to The News: Attn. Citizen of the Year, 3501 Turtle Creek Drive, Port Arthur, Texas, 77642. Submissions can also be faxed to (409) 724-6854 or panews@panews.com Include your name, e-mail and telephone number. Include your nominee's name, town, telephone number and list any civic, church and volunteer activities outside of work or any other actions taken to help the community. People who hold political office will not be considered unless the volunteer work is outside the scope of their office.
