GROVES — A retired plumber looked inside one of Charlie Marcum’s plumbing trucks and declared, “You’re fixing to go to war.”

Groves serves as Marcum’s headquarters where he celebrated the opening of his business with a ribbon cutting with The Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, The Groves Chamber of Commerce and the Orange Chamber of Commerce Monday, Aug. 11.

Marcum isn’t new to the plumbing business, but he has a brand new business serving the Golden Triangle — Benjamin Franklin- The Punctual Plumbers. Their slogan is ‘If there’s any delay, it’s you we pay!’ There are 267 franchises in the United States with their newest branch in Groves.

“The customer knows the price upfront and there’s a 100 percent guarantee (if they’re unsatisfied),” Marcum said. “We have the best warranties. We can guarantee all repairs for two years, and if a repair fails, it’s free. Parts and labor we guarantee 20 years. We explain everything and we show until the customer understands.”

Customers also have the option of joining the Ben Society where plumbers inspect the plumbing anytime for free. Everything will be carefully looked at to head off any problems.

“If there’s a problem, it’s too late by then. We can head off a catastrophe. We have fully stocked big trucks we call a warehouse on wheels and 99 percent of the time, we correct the problem then,” he said.

Their plumbers go through a drug check and a background check and only the top three percent of plumbers are hired. Plumbers are trained, skilled and experienced, neat, clean and uniformed.

Marcum added they’re called the punctual plumbers because if they’re late for an appointment, the company will pay the customer $5 per minute at a maximum of $300.
