Update: Names of two dead following early morning shooting released

PORT ARTHUR — Two are dead following a shooting in Port Arthur.

Police were called to the 2800 block of 59th Street at approximately 1:05 a.m. in regards to a suspicious vehicle.

The caller told police that the driver appeared to be slumped over in the passenger’s seat and the driver’s seat was unoccupied.

Arriving officers found a man dead on the gound outside the driver door with gunshot wounds and the passenger was also dead, having sustained a gunshot wound also. The victims have been identified as Demario Polk, 24, of Port Arthur and Carlos Deshawn Lowe, 23, also of Port Arthur.

A possible witness was located and has been interviewed by the Major Crimes Unit according to a PAPD press release.
