Unidentified body pulled from Neches

— On Thursday, May 16, 2013, at approximately 8:15pm, the Jefferson County

Sheriff's Office dispatch center received a call from a fisherman on the

Neches River of a body south of the IH-10 Bridge. The Jefferson County

Sheriff's Office Marine Division was able to locate the body. The body was

recovered with the assistance of the Beaumont Fire Department Dive Team.

Due to the condition of the body, officials are unable to give race or sex until

the autopsy is completed. The body was transported to the Jefferson County

Morgue awaiting autopsy.
