Weddings for Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 The Port Arthur NewsRita Merle and Walter Carl Miles of Port Arthur will celebrate their 50th anniversary on November 19, 2006. The celebration was hosted by Carla Miles Broussard.
Rita Merle Clay and Walter Carl Miles were married on November 17, 1956, at St. Mary’s Church in Port Arthur, Texas. Rita has been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 47 years. Rita is a retiree of Texaco Chemical in which she was employed for over 22 years. Walter has been a Mason for 49 years where he served as Master in 2003-2004 and is currently serving as Marshall. Walter is a retiree of the IBEW in which he was employed for over 41 years. The couple has three children: Carla Miles Broussard of Lake Charles of LA and the late John Clayton Miles and the late Mark Reed Miles. The couple also has three grandchildren.
