Driver killed, passengers injured near Silsbee

A Silsbee man was killed when his vehicle left the roadway on FM 92 in Hardin County and he was ejected from his truck.

Texas Troopers said Trenton Grubbs, 47, was driving south about four miles north of Silsbee around 9:45 p.m. Friday when the truck left the roadway for unknown reasons, struck a culvert and rolled several times before hitting a telephone pole.

Grubbs and his passengers, Donnie McInnis, 58, of Silsbee and Courtney Lisenby, 27, of Silsbee were all ejected from the vehicle. Grubbs was taken to St. Elizabeth’s in Beaumont where he was pronounced dead by emergency room personnel, the Department of Public Safety said.

McInnis and Lisenby of Silsbee were both transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries, the DPS statement said. There was no updated information on their medical condition Saturday afternoon.

This crash remains under investigation, DPS said.
