Marjorie A. “Bud” Baker

Marjorie A. “Bud” Baker, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 in Hollister, Missouri.

She was born on September 16, 1927 to her parents, Richard Dolph West and Mary Leah Olivia (DuBose) West in Port Arthur, Texas.  Bud was the last remaining of her nine siblings, she was raised in Pear Ridge. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur Business College.  Bud owned and operated Bud’s Flowers in Port Arthur for twenty years. She was a lifelong member of Proctor Street Church of Christ. In her retirement years, she traveled extensively with seasonal stays in Florida and Ontario, Canada.

She is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Ann (Hargrove) LaBove and husband, Donny of Branson, MO., Patti Lyn (Hargrove) Friedl of Austin, TX. , her four grandchildren,  Donald A. “Tony” LaBove, II of Austin, TX., Dawn A. LaBove of Dallas, TX., Dustin A. LaBove of Nederland, TX. and Zackery A. Friedl of Austin, TX. along with one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.  Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Tranquility Mausoleum at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
