Bernadine Ford

Bernadine Ford, 73, of Port Arthur, passed away peacefully on October, 15, 2017, surrounded by her loving daughter and family. She was born in Pineville, LA to Leander Armand and John Ford, and later moved to Port Arthur.  She was a 1962 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. Bernadine was retired from Gulf Coast Nursing Home as a CNA, and spent the remainder of her years as a devoted caregiver and mother until her illness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leander Armand and John Ford, brother, John Ford II, children, Edward Rogers III and Robert Ford, granddaughter, Jaylon Jackson, and nephew, John Ford III.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter Tonuia Bernard and husband Mark, grandchildren, Morgan Ford and Courtney Jacobs, niece Debbie Bailey; devoted cousin, Luverda Eaglin, and a host of other relatives and friends.

At her request, Bernadine asked there be no services to celebrate her life – a life well lived by a woman who was loved by many.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Compassion Hospice, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Katy, TX and Dr. Harry Smith, Oncology Port Arthur, and his staff for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in the name of Bernadine Ford to Julie Rogers Gift of Life, 2390 Dowlen Road, Beaumont, TX 77706.
