Louis Miller

Louis Miller, 83, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Bailey Place in Bunkie, Louisiana.

Louis was born February 8, 1934 to Laurie Miller, Sr. and Bertha DeKerlegand Miller.  He was a resident of this area for seventy-three years and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.  Louis retired from the Port Arthur Fire Department as Battalion Chief Training Officer with thirty-seven years of service and was instrumental in the start of the Texas A&M Fire School.  He was also a US Army Veteran.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Reverend Shane Baxter officiating.  Military and Fireman Graveside Honors will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017 with a Rosary service to be at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

Louis was preceded in death by his brother, Lucius Miller.

Surviving relatives include five daughters, Judy Cluelow and husband Mark of Port Neches, Texas; Karon Frazer and husband Marvin of Graham, Washington; Sharon Alsobrook and husband Jason of Puyallup, Washington; Lara Comeaux and husband John of Port Arthur, Texas; Diana Hodges and husband Stephen of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Ella Mae Blanchard of Vinton, Louisiana; brother, Laurie Miller, Jr. and wife Peggy of Orange, Texas; grandchildren, Chrissi Davis and husband Travis, Cori Cluelow, Ryan Miller, Justin Frazer, Christopher Urbina, Bethany Frazer, Logan Miller, John Comeaux III, Nathan Miller, Jilliann Comeaux, Peyton Comeaux, great-grandchildren, Mathias Frazer and Collyn Cluelow.
