Kenneth Rayburn Garner

Kenneth Rayburn Garner, age 83, of Odessa, TX, passed away on February 4, 2017 in Odessa.

Ken was born July 9, 1933 to Jewell and Chester Garner in Pt. Arthur, TX. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Pt. Arthur. He married Barbara Ann Hall August 5, 1955 in Pt. Arthur. Ken graduated from Lamar State College of Technology in Beaumont, TX, with a BBA in Marketing in August of 1958. He was employed by Sears and Roebuck. Ken was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship and teaching of Mr. Danny Keener in Sunday School.

Ken is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Barbara and a brother, Clayton Garner.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Mitchell and husband Patrick of League City, TX and Sandra Dumas and husband Terry of Odessa, one grandson Aaron Dumas of Odessa, two step grandchildren, Bryan Dumas and Kim Siegrest and one step great granddaughter Emily Scruggs.

Graveside Services for the burial of his cremains will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Phil Sigman, officiating. Military funeral honors provided by Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group. Local arrangements are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
