Genevieve Chaney Singleton, 78, of Port Arthur died Monday, December 5, 2016 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. A native of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, she was a longtime resident of Port Arthur.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her six children, Ethel Mae Fields, Marylene Spain, Shirley Mae Herbert, Gail Hayes, Michael Hayes, Jr. and Debra Joseph (McArthur) all of Port Arthur, TX; her sister and brother, Margaret Bessard of Killeen, TX and Jerry Chaney of Port Arthur, TX; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and her pet dog Blacky, who loved her dearly.

Funeral service will be 11 am. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 501 West Thomas Blvd., Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
