PN-G grad named MVP of Dominican pro baseball finals

Port Neches-Groves graduate Lew Ford recently won MVP honors of the championship series for the Dominican Professional Baseball League.
Ford, who graduated from PN-G in 1994 and is 39, played as a member of Leones del Escogido.
He led the team to the title by hitting .368 with one home run, four RBI, five runs and six walks. He started all six games in center. Ford is the first imported player in league history to be named Finals MVP on multiple occasions. He also won the honor in 2013-14 as a member of Tigres del Licey.
Ford plays for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and is the team’s all-time batting leader.
