Keeping kids motivated with library fun

Keeping kids motivated with learning while incorporating holiday fun was the task at hand at the Port Arthur Public Library on Monday.
Children ranging in age from two on up sat in front of laptops as Children’s Librarian Carolyn Thibodeaux showed them how to navigate the library’s website in order to download books and more.
Gwen May brought along her granddaughter Madison May, 6. The grandmother carefully watched as Madison used the laptop and helped her sign in.
Nearby Jasmine Dominquez watched as her sons, Nehemias Dominguez, 11, and Mauricio Dominguez, 8, typed in information.
“I bring them to the library so they don’t waste their time around the house. They come here to learn,” Jasmine Dominguez said.
The mom accompanies her sons to the library where they find books to read, she added.
The group of children then moved to a different station in the children’s section where they played with Lego’s, wrote letters to Santa and added their handprints to T-shirts.
